The Best Places To Stay In Canggu, Bali

If you’re planning on visiting Canggu on your upcoming trip to Bali, you might end up overwhelmed by the impressive number of hotels, resorts, and Airbnb’s you now have to choose from. But I’m here to help – below is my guide to the best places to stay in Canggu.

My favorite thing about Canggu is that it has a completely different vibe than the rest of Indonesia. Surrounded by rice fields, Canggu provides a relaxing break from the bustling streets of Indonesia’s busy cities, while still having plenty of food, shopping, and nightlife options. This makes Canggu that perfect beachside destination for you and your family on your next trip.

Since I know from personal experience how stressful it can be to find the perfect stay for you and your family, I have put together some of my favorite places to stay in Canggu. I hope this helps make your planning a bit easier.

You will notice that I have included a fair amount of Airbnb properties. While I usually like to provide you with a variety of options, I have found that the widest variety of stays in Canggu are Airbnb rentals, rather than hotels or resorts, especially when it comes to traveling with kids. Read until the end to see my favorite Airbnb Villas in Canggu if you are traveling with another family or maybe have a bigger budget for this trip and are looking for that perfect luxury stay!

Best Airbnbs in Canggu for Families

Big Tropical Villa Pool in the Heart of Canggu

One of my favourite Airbnb’s in Canggu is the Big Tropical Villa, located in the Kuta Utara neighborhood here you’ll have access to a private swimming pool and garden, an outdoor living area with a barbeque, as well as an indoor living room, plus three full sized bedrooms with king sized beds. This is the perfect stay to continue your relaxing visit to Canggu by napping in the hammock by the pool while the kids swim or enjoying the homey experience of cooking with local ingredients in the fully equipped kitchen.

This stay is perfect for families with younger children as well. The hosts provide a baby cot, high chair, as well as a stair fence and a pool fence if requested ahead of time. The amazing hosts of this stay also provide housekeeping six days of the week and a property manager who is on call 24/7 should you need any assistance. You can also select an add on for an additional charge if you’d like to be picked up from the airport, if you need a babysitter, would like to book a massage or request food shopping services during your stay. They really have thought of everything!

You may think that this is an extravagant Airbnb if it has all of these features so it couldn’t possibly fit in your budget. Well, you’ll be happy to hear that this stay only costs around $150AUD (less than $100USD) per night, making it one of the most affordable stays in all of Canggu.

Villa Kelapa Hijau

My second recommendation is Villa Kelapa Hijau, a beautiful stay that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a jungle. Also located in Kuta Utara, this villa may make it feel like you’re staying in the middle of nowhere, but really is one of the most convenient locations on this list. Walking distance from many shops and shops as well as the beach, this stay has a perfect balance of a quiet atmosphere that is also extremely accessible.

This two bed, two bath villa makes you feel like you’re always outside, enjoying the wonderful Indonesian weather throughout your stay. The private pool is surrounded by outdoor living areas which are complete with beautiful fountains and incredible landscaping. Each bedroom opens up with large windows, allowing you to fully relax no matter where you are in this Airbnb. The hosts also provide breakfast each morning as well as 24/7 support should you need anything.

2BR Villa Kiwi near the beach

One of the most aesthetically pleasing stays with an incredibly relaxing atmosphere is this 2BR Villa KIWI. This villa is located just minutes from Berawa Beach (where you’ll find Finn’s and The Lawn Beach Clubs) as well as Echo Beach.

One of my favorite things about this villa is the traditional Balinese design throughout the entire property. From the stone wall lining the pool to the details in the master bedroom’s ceiling, you can see that the hosts have combined local customs and modern design within this property. It’s clear that the stay was designed for comfort and relaxation, which is exactly what you and your family will do in this Airbnb! But, once you’re ready for a bit of adventure, you will be able to walk to the ocean, nearby rice fields, local restaurants and beach clubs. The property is also located approximately 100 metres from a car and bicycle rental, in case you’d like to explore even more during your stay.

If you’re traveling with young kids, this may be the perfect stay for your family (just make sure you lock the doors out to the pool). The Airbnb hosts provide you with everything you could need for your little ones; from high chairs and cribs to babysitter recommendations, they have you covered!

Family Friendly Resorts in Canggu

The Bali Dream Villa Resort Echo Beach Canggu

If you and your family prefer to stay in a resort during your stay in Canggu, then consider staying at The Bali Dream Villa Resort. This is one of the smaller resorts in Canggu, providing you with what feels like an exclusive and private luxury experience during your stay.

One of the best things about The Bali Dream Villa Resort, is that there is so much included in the cost of your room. From bicycle rentals and area shuttles to a breakfast buffet you will easily explore the surrounding area and thoroughly enjoy yourself throughout your stay while getting your money’s worth. There is also a large pool as well as a hot tub at the center of the resort, but many rooms have private pools for you and your family to enjoy. The resort also has yoga classes and The Bali Dream Spa which offers a wide variety of treatments for you to enjoy once you’re ready to relax.

The Bali Dream Villa Resort is also very family friendly, providing all guests traveling with young children with cribs and/or infant beds during their stay. They also offer in-room child care or babysitting services at an additional rate. So whether you’re ready to experience Canggu with the entire family or need a date night during your vacation, the resort will have you covered.

Hotel Tugu Bali

One of the most popular hotels in Canggu is Hotel Tugu Bali. Located directly on the beach, this hotel is not only in one of the best parts of Canggu, but they have so much to offer their guests. There are five restaurants on site at Hotel Tugu Bali, as well as one bar and several common areas which serve coffee and tea.

If you’re interested in venturing outside of the hotel for a meal, then you’ll be happy to find at least a dozen restaurants, cafes, and bars within a ten minute walk of the hotel. Once you’re ready to relax after your explorations in Canggu, enjoy the outdoor pool and the full service spa. Of course, this hotel also has luxurious rooms with beautiful views as well as a breakfast buffet for you and your family to enjoy.

The kids will love it too, as there’s a playground at the hotel itself as well as an impressive collection of children’s games and toys. The staff also goes above and beyond to make sure you and your family are comfortable, providing travel cribs, infant beds, rollaway beds, and babysitting services.

The Haven Suites Bali Berawa

One of the most impressive resorts in Canggu is the Haven Suites, located just a two minute walk from the beach. With several outdoor pools, an incredible location, great services for families with young children, and a beautiful restaurant and bar, it is hard to find a better resort in Canggu.

Each room has a balcony overlooking the pool with an incredible view of the ocean. Additionally, each room is also soundproofed in case you have children who are light sleepers. I also particularly love their family suites, as they’re set up to provide more space for adults and kids.

This resort also has a children’s pool, as well as a 24 hour fitness center, and free bicycle rentals. But one of the most loved aspects of this resort is its location, as it is just a short walk away from the famous black sand beaches. You will absolutely feel like you’re living the life of luxury during your stay at the Haven Suites! Enjoy the outdoor bars, the full service spa, and the five star restaurant once it’s the grown up’s turn to relax.

The Best Luxury Villas in Canggu for Families

If you have a slightly larger budget or maybe are traveling with another family, consider staying at one of these luxury villas located in Canggu.

Jadine Villa

The Jadine Villa is a super-spacious four-bedroom villa in the heart of Canggu. The layout is great for larger families or a group of friends, as there’s a separate bedroom and ensuite on the other side of the pool to the main house. Then, there’s one bedroom with ensuite downstairs, and two bedrooms with ensuites upstairs. When we stayed here this worked perfectly – we were upstairs with the children, while my sister was downstairs, and my parents were in the separate suite.

There are two pools and a jacuzzi – the main pool is deeper for swimming laps, while the second pool is very shallow, perfect for small children. We also chose this villa because all doors were lockable, meaning the children couldn’t get out to the pool without supervision.

This villa also features extensive indoor and outdoor living areas, and the incredible team of hosts are just a WhatsApp message away.

FELLA Luxury Beach Villa

FELLA Luxury Beach Villa is a remarkable stay, but isn’t as expensive as you might expect when you think of a luxury Bali villa. This three bedroom villa is beautifully designed and decorated, making you feel like you get to live the life of luxury throughout your stay.

The outdoor pool is lined with various living spaces, all of which are designed to create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The villa itself also has a very open and light design. With plenty of windows and greenery throughout the property, you will feel like you’re outside the entire time while getting to enjoy indoor comforts. You can also use the fully stocked kitchen during your stay, if you’re interested in cooking during your holiday.

The hosts also have a transport service that is available 24/7 should you need transportation during your stay, though there are plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance if you’d like to stay in the neighborhood. The famous black beaches themselves are also just a short walk away from this stay!

A stay at this gorgeous Boho villa wills set you back around $400AUD per night.

Tropical Canggu Villa on Ricefield near the Beach

If you’re looking for the epitome of a modern stay in Canggu, then you must consider Tropical Canggu Villa for your next trip to Indonesia. This jaw dropping Airbnb simply reeks luxury but also won’t break the bank. Every aspect of this property, the common living spaces, all three of the bedrooms, the four and a half baths throughout the villa, and the outdoor living area, is just breathtaking. Not only is this a beautiful stay, but it also comes with all the comforts needed to create the most relaxing atmosphere. You may never be able to leave the poolside lounge chairs or the massive tub in your master bathroom during your vacation.

One of the most unique things about this Airbnb, other than the beautiful design of course, is that it is located right next to a rice field. Your view with the floor to ceiling windows is always of the beautiful rice fields and the volcanic mountains in the distance. While you might never want to leave, when you do decide to explore Canggu, you’ll only be a five minute drive from the best beaches and beach clubs and a short walk from some incredible restaurants and cafes.
